What is the ABC Recognition Program?

The ABC Recognition Program honours employees in the District who contribute to the educational community in four categories every year. This initiative acknowledges teachers and staff who demonstrate leadership excellence, innovation, student support, and collaboration. By recognizing these exceptional individuals, the program aims to foster a culture of dedication, inclusivity, and continuous improvement in schools.

Every winter, Abbotsford School District French Immersion schools come together to celebrate a beloved tradition that brings warmth, excitement, and cultural appreciation to the chilly months. Inspired by Quebec City’s famous Carnaval de Québec, we have made it a tradition to embrace French Canadian heritage through food, music, and outdoor festivities—giving students a chance to create lasting memories year after year.

The Abbotsford School District is embarking on an innovative 12-year project titled "Journey to 2036," aiming to chronicle the educational journeys of a select group of students from Grade 1 through to their high school graduation in 2036. This initiative seeks to provide a unique, longitudinal perspective on student development within the district.

The Snowball Basketball Tournament at Abbotsford Senior Secondary (Abby Senior), one of the longest-running high school basketball tournaments in the province, marked its 63rd year with thrilling games, a legacy of excellence, and strong community support. Known for its high-quality competition, the tournament continues to attract top-tier teams from across Canada and the United States, cementing its reputation as a premier event in high school basketball.
